Creating sound images from the group OlhoCalegari integrants’ poetical and visual artworks, based on the interactive possibilities, the unpredictability and the spontaneity of the musical improvisations is the challenge for the group.
Utilizing software and hardware for sound processing and expanding the use of the instruments beyond their traditional possibilities, the group join popular and contemporary erudict music, live-electronics, videoart, sound and digital poetry, aiming to disrupt the defined classifications and genres in order to amplify the artistic expression of the group’s compositions.
The Coletivo OlhoCaligari is a group formed by artists and master’s and doctorate degree students of the program Music and Art from UNICAMP - State University of Campinas. With background in several fields of research and production like: composition, improvisation, performance and visual, sound and multimedia poetry, the group is together since 2005 and has been performing in festivals in Latin America, United States and Europe.
The group is formed by Denis Koishi, Giuliano Tosin, Júlio Oliveira and Marcel Rocha.
